Coaching – We Train Your Dog With You
You tell us where and when you want to train. Depending upon your personal situation, training sessions can be weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or at other set variables. Each training session is typically one hour. Your professional trainer will determine all this during an initial consultation. Please contact us to discuss your unique needs.
In-home training is available in person in the Greater Cincinnati, Ohio area (Interstate 275 Beltway area).
Why Choose In-Home Training?
There are several situations when in-home training may be the best solution. Consider in-home training:
- If you can’t commit to attending a weekly class
- If you want a custom training solution
- If your dog has behavioral problems that make a group environment difficult
- If your dog has bitten someone or attacked another dog
- If you’d like to involve your entire family in training
We Train Your Dog For You
No time to train? No problem. Dr. Victoria Barber Emery will come to your home or other designated location several times a week to train your dog for you. You don’t even have to be present. Basic obedience can be taught in approximately three weeks. You’ll get weekly lessons on how to maintain the training and communicate with your dog.
Why Choose Day Training?
Day training can be the best solution for you:
- If you don’t have time to train your dog
- If you need quick results
- If you want to come home to a well-trained dog
Group classes meet weekly for one hour for six weeks in the Fairfield area or in your own backyard with a group of your friends and neighbors.
In Level 1 Obedience, you’ll focus is on learning basic obedience commands, such as sit, down, stay, loose leash walking, come when called, and leave it.
In Level 2 Obedience, you’ll phase out the use of treats and learn to “proof” your dog’s obedience by adding distance, duration and distraction to learned commands.
In Agility, you’ll learn to use a positive reinforcement method to introduce your dog to tunnels, chutes, jumps and weave polls. A solid obedience foundation is required. Your dog must complete Levels 1 and 2 Obedience or pass an evaluation. Dogs must be 6 months or older and non-reactive.
Why Choose Group Classes?
Group classes are an economical way to train your dog. Training classes are the best solution for you:
- If you want your dog to socialize with other dogs
- If you want to have fun with your dog in a group setting
- If you can commit to a weekly class for six weeks
You’ll work with Dr. Victoria Barber Emery to pass a ten-step test which will result in receiving the AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate and/or title. The AKC Canine Good Citizen designation is the gold standard for canine behavior. It is an excellent way to prepare for therapy dog training.
